VPL Liked This Initiative: "Listening Center for the Library"
Ms. Ybarra works as a school librarian at the Title 1 school in San Antonio, TX, where many students have limited access to books and technology at home. She says, "As the school librarian, I want to get the students excited about reading and using technology in the library. By giving students access to books and technology in the library, I hope to encourage the students to become lifelong learners and readers." She is requesting a junction box with eight headphones for student to use with iPads to create listening centers in the library, and we have given a seed fund to kick start her campaign.
