VPL is proud to announce we are now a Certified B Corporation®. We will be joining global innovators in a movement to use business as a force for good. B Corporations meet higher standards of social and environmental performance, using business as an agent for change. We are ecstatic to be recognized alongside other major B Corps. Every product we make is a result of slow design and sustainable production. We have funded numerous education initiatives directly to classrooms across country. This is how we made our products.
Slow Design & Zero Waste
Over the years we have developed designs to utilize scrap of fabrics and perfected our fit. We maximized the usage of fabric or "yield" by refining our marking, grading and cutting method.
Upcycling Leftover Fabric
Estimated 15-20% of fabric used to produce clothing winds up in the landfills because it's cheaper to dump the scraps than to use them up. We have been upcycling our own left over fabric, but we now also partnered with top designer factories and cutters to collect unused fabric.
The saving, which is up to 50% of typical garment costs or 20% of our products, has been used to fund our important social initiatives. Our fund is committed to directly benefiting children's education, and learn those initiatives VPL have helped funding from here.
