*FUNDED* VPL liked this initiative: "Swimming Into Math Facts Fluency!"

Ms. T is a 4th grade math teacher in Columbus, GA with smart students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.  She says, "One of my biggest challenges this year is having to go back and reteach/reinforce their addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication facts to them so we do not struggle so much with newer content." She thinks "Math Shark" can help students solve problems or find their answers.  We have given a seed fund to kick start her campaign.

Ms. T Wrote us a note:

"Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for the kind words and donation! It means so much to me and I can't wait to share what you've done for us in class tomorrow. Thank you, truly!"

Here is the update from her:

"Dear VPL vplstore.com,

We are on Christmas Break right now, however I absolutely cannot wait to get back to school and tell my students that because of your acts of kindness our project had been funded!!! I am truly humbled and grateful for you all. I cannot wait to see the smiles on their faces when I get back!

With gratitude,
Ms. T."

Materials arrived! We received some photos from her. We can feel excitement from students. Thanks again Ms T!

Dear VPL vplstore.com,

Thank you so much for your kind donations. I am so humbled and equally happy for my class. The technology that you provided for us has helped us immensely with basic math facts in the areas of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. My students in particular enjoy all facets of learning through the use of technology. The difference between the students performing tasks from a book and performing tasks on their Math Sharks is HUGE. They truly enjoy using them, and I truly enjoy hearing them get excited when they get a problem right!

My students get excited about all the levels they can go through on these tools, and they like to hear the sounds that the Math Sharks make when they get something right and even when they get something wrong. They enjoy getting into groups and competing with them, and they love to get their math sharks out when they have finished their work.

Certain students love to take care of these Math Sharks, they love to make sure their tools get put back in their special spots. They make sure that the batteries are in them and definitely take ownership of these Math Sharks. I love to seem them so engaged in their learning, and enjoying your kind donations.

With gratitude,
Ms. T.
